Lauren Rule- Airports (Outside Reading #1)

I found this article on NBC News under the travel section.  The article is titled "10 Airports You Won't Want To Leave" by Erin Gifford (There is a link to the article at the bottom of the page labeled "Article").  Each of these airports has features that appeal to us as humans.  We are always looking for ways to stayed entertained.
When I found this article I thought of this class because of the beauty these airports bring to our lives.  We as humans are always looking for ways to make things beautiful.  I don't know about you, but when I think about airports I don't have the most beautiful imagines in my mind.  There are so many people crowded into this one structure, the smell and sight of all ages, backgrounds, and genders.  I think of a lot of steel and mechanics.  There are many forms of art, especially in today's society.  I think that these airports are forms of art.  They go beyond the functional use of transporting people from one place to the next by adding beauty to their structures.  I really like that many of these airports added nature into them.
Listed below are the airports in the article with some of their interesting accommodations.
1. Singapore Changi Airport- butterfly garden, nature trails, 4D cinema, aviation gallery, four-story slide
2. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport- art exhibit
3. Munich Airport- indoor beer garden, interactive look at how an airport works, arts and crafts for kids, miniature golf course
4. London Heathrow Airport- luxury shops, play areas for children
5. San Francisco International Airport- in-town restaurants, yoga room
6. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport- live music
7. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport- museum (largest airport museum in our nation)
8. Vancouver International Airport- 30,000-gallon aquarium
9. Hong Kong International Airport- IMAX theater, Aviation Discovery Center, golf course, opera
10. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport- yoga studio, walking paths, children play areas
Each of the airports has a form of art, either interactive or observing, for people to enjoy.  Fashion, enjoying the great outdoors (both on land and below the sea), music, art, and performances of the human body (yoga and opera) are all forms of art.  Beauty can be found in each of these airports, now I kinda want to take a trip.
