John Tyler -- Revelation of God (4-14-13)

Revelation of God -- Outside reading

“In the revelation of God there is still mystery” --- Heidegger

It is astounding how God can be known yet unknown.  Heidegger expands this reality by addressing the sky. We know it is there up above us, but where does it begin and what does it contain? It is known and recognized yet unsearchable and infinite.  Heidegger then draws a very interesting point, saying that the sky and Divinity share a connection. God is revealed in the sky.

The psalmist, David, seems to agree:

Psalm 19:1-2

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge”

What would Heidegger say about in the revelation of God there is mystery yet greater understanding of the self?
