Nature and Man-made Beauty -- Personal choice
I am a follower of Christ and I believe the Bible is the Word of God. As a Christian I draw truth and meaning from the text of God’s word. Interestingly enough, I believe the same can be done in a sense through natural and man-created beauty. I find it easier to do this with nature than with art. Since the world is broken, everything communicated by the artist is from the artist’s perspective and deals with brokenness. However, the Christian experience of art can be powerful as I experience the artist’s expression of truth through the Grid of God’s perspective offered in Scripture and the redemptive story. When the expression lines up with the Truth, the reaction is gladness within. When the artist’s exposition of truth contradicts the Word of God, the believer can appreciate how the contradiction highlights the truth. I make it my goal to mine for God’s truth and relish in it wherever I find it.
