The Noland Trail -- Personal choice
At least once a week I strap on my running shoes and hit the Noland Trail. Initially I found the trail to be a great place to exercise with the gentle, rolling hills and nice 5-mile length. As time went on, my appreciation for the trail grew immensely. Gradually the trail became something more then just a place for exercise. During the stressful weeks of spring semester freshman year, I began to walk the trail for a time of solitude and reflection. Then, during sophomore year this special place turned into a place for friendships to grow. Now instead of running alone or walking by myself, I invite friends to share in the magic of the trail. It is fascinating how something so simple as a museum park can contain so much meaning and invisible worth.

As I continue to explore the
trail’s features and invite more friends to join me, the value will only
continue to expand and take on new forms.
Beauty is not confined to the inherent worth of an object, place or
person but to the endless facets of discovery and enjoyment.
