Marissa: Semblance in Wonderland

Hidden beneath the reality in which we live there lies a second, quite different reality. The second reality too is a semblance, or artificial illusion. A lovely semblance is an enjoyable deception. There are many lovely semblances in life, as they say, ignorance is bliss. When Dr. Redick discussed this in class in reminded me of my favorite movie, Alice in Wonderland. Alice’s Wonderland is a semblance that she created, although she is not aware of that at first. I think most people would like to occasionally escape to a semblance like Wonderland because life can be difficult at times to deal with. With today’s technology, there are mechanisms that can simulate all sorts of things. For example, on cruise ships now there are wave simulators where patrons can surf in a semblance while being surrounded by real water.
