Marissa: Kalos & Kairos

Early on in the class we discussed the term Kalos. We learned that this is Greek word for excellence, handsome, or beauty. This term has two connotations to it, one of morals and one of usefulness. Kalos can refer to something that is pure and honorable, it can also refer to something that is admirable, useful, good, or praise-worthy. It is interesting to me the similarity between Kalos and another Greek term I learned in my Communication studies, Kairos, which refers to opportune timing. Kairos sounds very similar to Kalos and they both refer to things that are excellent.
