In
class, we talked about an aesthetic experience. An aesthetic experience is a
deeply stirring happening. I can recall a time I have experienced this.
I live directly on the
water and when I walk out my front door, we have four deadrise work boats
sitting at our dock. I absolutely love being on the water, but I love it best
when I’m out on the boats. When I am able to take a ride, I immediately climb to
the top of the cabin. I watch my uncle untie the ropes and get ready to leave
the dock, at first we have to go slow because we’re in a no wake zone. While we’re
slowly sailing, I love to look at the other houses around that sit on the water
too. Once we get out of the now wake zone, and start to speed up, I feel an
excitement inside of me. The sound of the boat is so loud, I don’t hear
anything else, but I love that. As we’re sailing, I watch the waves from other
boats, and I often see fish and dolphins jumping out the water. Basically, throughout
my entire boat ride, I feel like I’m the only one there. I feel an emotion that
is unexplainable, but I know that’s where I belong.
